Pakistan’s leading spinner Saeed Ajmal has been issued the No Objection Certificate by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to represent Adelaide Strikers in Australia’s T20 Big Bash League (BBL) from January 13 to 19.
Ajmal was signed to play only one group match of BBL which he played for the Strikers on December 9 [the same day when his home team Faisalabad Wolves was up against Lahore Lions in Final of Faysal Bank T20] against Perth Scorchers. But it was in his BBL contract that he would be called back to play the knock-out stage if the Strikers needed him.
The Semi Finals of BBL-2 will be played on January 15 and 16. However, the Strikers have not yet qualified for the knock-out stage. They play their last group match tomorrow against the Scorchers, if they win they will qualify in case they lose they will have to rely on the result of the match between Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat January 10.
Criclens had reported last month that Saeed Ajmal will not be playing the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) which starts from January 18. One of the reasons of Ajmal’s reluctance to play the BPL was his contract with BBL.
